Nijmegen Gladiolus Foot Bath

The petals of the rescued gladiolus and the wonderful smell of eucalyptus and peppermint make this a wonderful home spa moment after a great performance!

2nd life Gladiolus

In 2023, Martijn and Karen from The Flavor Company came up with the idea of making a gift with dried gladiolus leaves that ties in spot-on with Nijmegen's pride: the 4-day event. Every year a lot of energy & capital is invested in the production of this special flower for just that one giving moment during the arrival at the Via Gladiola. That is why we contacted Nijmegen florists, catering establishments, campsites & hotels to collect the discarded gladioli immediately after the arrival & the four-day festivities and give them a second life.

Instructions:

Fill the foot bath with 2 (teaspoon) scoops of the mixture and 1 liter of boiling water. When the salt has dissolved, add cold water until it reaches a comfortable temperature. Take a seat and enjoy a relaxing and rejuvenating moment for yourself!

Ingredients:

Epson salt (magnesium sulphate), Dead Sea salt, Himalayan salt, Gladiolus leaves, Hibiscus, Rose petals, Perfume, Benzyl Benzoate, Limonene, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Citronellol, Citral.

  • Dead Sea salt soothes sore muscles. Soaking in Dead Sea salt can help relieve muscle cramps and pain and provides a relaxing way to relieve the pain and discomfort of tired and tense tissues.
  • Himalayan salt neutralizes. The salt in the water neutralizes the electrical charge of our body. This ensures that our energy is balanced and we feel grounded and relaxed.
  • Epsom salt reduces stress. Epsom salt is a magnesium sulfate compound and has nothing in common with sodium salt, the table salt you use every day in the kitchen. Epsom salt has been used for hundreds of years as a healing agent and pain reliever. Nowadays it is usually added to hot baths and even an Epsom salt foot bath to reduce stress.
